Venus Embrace Sensitive [Review]

A few weeks ago I received the new Venus Embrace Sensitive razor from Influenster to try out. I wasn't expecting much out of it because I have my tried and true other style of razor from Venus which I love (and may or may not have stockpiled when it was cheap and I had coupons...). Plus, a lot of razors claim to not cause redness or bumps and frankly that's an outright lie.

I started using this razor three or four days ago and I am impressed. I've definitely noticed less bumps and itchiness. It's easy to handle and even comes with a little hook to hang the razor up in your shower.

If you have sensitive skin, are sick of redness, bumps, and itching, or are just looking for a new razor, I would definitely recommend trying this one out.

I received this product free to try from Influenster. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

Ulta Makeup Haul

Back on Black Friday (ages ago, I know!), I scored some awesome deals from Ulta. Since I've used almost everything I bought, I thought I would share some of my opinions on the products.

bareMinerals Go For The Glow Makeup Kit (includes blush, radiance, and lip gloss): I am obsessed with the Radiance. It adds a nice touch of shimmer to your face without a bronzer-like look. The blush is just as great. These products do take a little getting used to as far as putting them on. But you get the hang of it after awhile. As for the lip gloss, it's okay. Nothing really special.

Tarte Kit (includes blush, mascara, and primer): I am obsessed with this blush! It's the perfect shade of peachy-pink to not look over the top and, like it claims, it SO DOES last 12 hours. This sucker doesn't come off until you want it to. I also really love the mascara. I haven't used the primer yet.

Ulta 5-piece brush set: These brushes are magical. Super, super soft and easy to clean.

Half Moon Glitter Nail Polish kit: Gosh, I need to use this! It is a kit that lets you paint your nail one color and then you use the glitter polish in a "half moon" at the base of your nail. Can't wait to test it out!

Big Sexy Hairspray: This sucker is heavy duty. It does its job for sure, but it's almost a little too heavy for my fine hair.

I also received a bunch of Ulta makeup line products for free with my purchases. I am loving the Ulta brand mascara and lipstick and the bag these products came in is so cute!

What products have you tried lately and love?

Hair Porn

I am fully prepared for spam because of this post title, FYI. But I had to keep it. I think I was a cosmetologist or something in another life. I love me some good hair (men & woman alike).

I'm getting my hair cut and colored on Saturday morning as a little early birthday present for me. Long overdue! I always get my hair foiled blonde with some brown and red highlights. I'm thinking about going a little bit warmer for winter though & getting a little more brown than I usually do.

But the biggest change I want is my haircut! I think this is the longest my hair has been in a year or more. To be honest, I like being able to have the option of doing different things with my hair. But I never do and it is definitely easier to manage when it's a little shorter. I have really thin hair. But I have a lot of it! So it's forever falling out and getting wrapped around hair ties. And if I don't straighten it, but wants to wear it down? Frizz city!

So for your enjoyment and my brainstorming, here are some beautiful hair ideas I'm considering. AKA hair porn.

What's Your Opinion?

I recently won a huge chunk of money to Ulta. I've finally decided that I need to buy a Naked Palette from Urban Decay!

Funny thing is I only recently started wearing eyeshadow.

Back when I first started wearing makeup around 6th grade, I always wore the same brown colored eyeshadow. I think it was the NYC brand. Cheap and I thought I was hot shit. I wore that same brown eyeshadow for a good two years.

Then, of course, by 8th grade, I was in a major black eyeliner faze (like everyone else in my class). Want proof?

Okay, so you can't see it really well in this atrocious picture, but trust me. Raccoon eyes.

In high school, I hardly ever wore makeup except on major events and/or holidays. And my staples in early college were lip gloss and mascara.

In the past two years or so, I feel like I've perfected the smokey eye that works for me and started to love wearing eyeshadow.

Which brings me full circle to: I need a Naked Palette. The question I have for you is which one should I get! The Naked Palette or the Naked 2 Palette. Help!

Which one should I buy?
Did you ever go through some embarrassing makeup fazes?

Best Hair Products. Ever.

Today, I thought I would do a post about some of the best hair products I've found. These may not work for everyone's hair though. Mine is color treated, thin (but I have a ton of it), and naturally wavy + it gets frizzy if it's humid or I just let it air dry with no product.

1. Moroccan Oil (or Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco, if you're cheap like me!)

http://salonnader.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Moroccan-Oil.jpg

Like I said, my hair can get frizzy. This stuff keeps the frizz/flyaway factor out of my hair when I straighten it. It also makes my hair super duper soft. And it smells fabulous!

2. Crack

http://www.haircareusa.com/images/hair_crack/hair-crack-hair.jpg

Yep, gotta love Crack! This stuff isn't that cheap. For the 2.5 oz, it was around $12 or something. But it works wonders! I've noticed my hair isn't as dry and frizzy when I straighten or blow dry it. It makes your hair super sleek and shiny.

3. Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray

http://www.beautyjunkiesunite.com/WP/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/Not-your-mothers-beach-babe-spray.jpg

My sister actually got this in an Influenster VoxBox. She has really thick and curly hair & couldn't really use this, plus she hated the smell (um...WHAT?!). If I don't feel like straightening my hair, but still want to look nice (aka not frizzy), I'll generously spritz this in my hair and scrunch it up. At first it just looks really wet (I spray it on wet hair too), but after an hour or two, it looks like nice beachy waves. And this smells SO GOOD!

These next two products I just bought a week ago during the sale at Ulta & haven't tried them yet, but I've heard good things!

4. CHI Infra Shampoo

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31n4rcmG6LL.jpg

I heard this is really great for dry or color treated hair, so I'm hoping this helps!

5. Ulta Ultimate Blonde with Vibrant Color Complex Conditioner

I heard this is awesome for color treated blonde hair & help it not look too brassy. Fingers crossed!

Have you tried any of these products?

Bat my Sexy Eyes

A few weeks ago I received the Rimmel London Endless Lash Accelerator Mascara from Influenster to try. It's not yet in stores, but a bunch of Influensters were given the opportunity to try it. Another cool thing, all badge holders that complete the challenges automatically get a bunch of free makeup, so you know I had to make this video!

Overall, I didn't really care for the mascara. I didn't like the brush or the way it goes onto my lashes.

Watch my (awkwardly awesome) vlog for details!

*The Rimmel London mascara was provided complimentary to me from Influenster to try and give my honest opinion. All other makeup in the video is my own.

I'm also participating in Raising Reagan's June Giveaway! Two prize packs & two separate winners. I'm giving away a black bubble necklace & free ad space! Go enter!

Mistakes We Made in 2000

Thinking the original Big Brother was super entertaining and awesome.
I just rewatched it on YouTube....snooze fest. No HoH, No Veto, audience voting people out. I wonder if the people who signed on for Big Brother 2 was expecting this original format to last...

The world was going to end come January 1st, 2000.
Y2K. Computers reverting back to 1900. Life as we know it was going to implode.

We would all be living like The Jetson's
Meet George Jetson!

Thinking we would all be dance idols by learning the dance to Crazy by Britney Spears on Darrin's Dance Grooves (oh, that's just me?)
One and Two and Three and shake those hips!

I did it all for the nookie. C'mon, the nookie.
How did they think Limp Bizkit was a cool band name?...

It's gettin' hott in herre
 I am getting so hot...

You are the weakest link, goodbye.
I'm sorry, but I don't want to fall through the floor.

Britney & Justin will, like, totally be together forever.
I mean, c'mon, they wore matching denim ensembles. If that doesn't scream true love, what does?

What?! My name is! Who?! My name is...Slim Shady.
The man that made you believe anyone could rap.

Thinking gas was SO EXPENSIVE at $1.26/gallon
 I think we jinxed ourselves....

Choker tattoo necklaces and Honey Kiss lip gloss
Need I say more?

No Heat Curls

First of all, since when is it the last day of February?! Where have these first two months of 2013 gone? Oh yeah, I spent the majority of them studying....

I'm not sure if I'm the last person to hop on this "no heat" curls train, but it is amazing!

If you read Aunie's blog, you've probably seen this. I did not hear about it until maybe two weeks ago.

She calls it the "Friar Tuck".

Go here to watch her video about how to do it.

Basically, before going to bed, you spray your hair with a texturizing spray. You then put a stretchy headband around your forehead and take pieces of hair and wrap them around and through the headband.

You then sleep on it and the next morning you take the headband off and shake out your hair. Tame the curls. Aunie uses dry shampoo. I didn't have any that day (which I regretted the next morning, hence my buying some at Target). It looks like this after:

Yes, the curls did fall out a little by the end of the day (I also shoveled snow that day too, so maybe it stays longer if you don't shovel or whatever?), but this is literally the only way my hair has held curl. Using a curling iron only works on my hair when it is shorter or done by my stylist.

Anyway, you should really try this! So cute!
