As women, we all care about what we put in our bodies. Who wants to spend 400 calories on one small coffee drink?
Well, no more. If you're not a frequent Starbucks go-er, you may not know that you can get a lot of their drinks "skinny". This means they use Skim (or Fat Free) milk, sugar-free syrup, and no whip on top. It can also mean the difference between 400 calories and 40 calories. A huge difference!
Today, I thought I'd show you a comparison of some of the drinks you can get "skinny". And, for those that doubt, most taste basically the same as the regular drinks.
We'll start with my new go-to: the Caramel Macchiato. I always get this skinny.
Iced Caramel Macchiato = 210
Iced Skinny Caramel Macchiato = 80
Iced Mocha = 320
Iced Skinny Mocha = 100
Mocha Frappuccino = 400
Mocha Frappuccino Light = 130
And did you know some of the bottled Starbucks drinks also come in Light?
Bottled Mocha Frappuccino = 180
Bottled Mocha Frappuccino Light = 100
Bottled Iced Coffee + Milk = 110
Bottled Low Calorie Iced Coffee + Milk = 50
Doubleshot Espresso = 140
Doubleshot Light Espresso = 70
Of course, once in awhile, we all need the creamy goodness of a little dollop of whip.
So, guess what? There's fat free whip available!
Next time you're at Starbucks: choose skinny.
*All calories of in-store drinks are for the Grande size.
** I am in no way affiliated with Starbucks and was not paid or otherwise compensated for this post....(I wish...)
Isn't it amazing how much it can cut the calories? I work there and since beginning that job, I have definitely cut back the pumps of syrup, switched to non-fact milk, and it really doesn't effect the taste at all!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have non-fat whip at our store though, I didn't know they did that. I wish!
I know! I was surprised when they asked if I wanted non-fat whip once. Um...yes please!
DeleteDo they offer sugar-free syrups, though? The amount of sugar can definitely add to the waistline.
ReplyDeleteAt the locations I visit, they do offer some of their syrups in the sugar free form. Some of the specialty drinks around the holiday time thought might not (I think I tried getting a Salted Caramel Mocha or Carmel Brulee Latte or something once & they couldn't make that sugar free).
DeleteI always get sugar free. It's such an easy way to cut calories!
ReplyDeletei love the skinny caramel macchiatos! I hate sugar free syrups though. I don't love syrups in general, but I hate fake sweet anything. Sugar free syrups are more sweet than the regular ones and just make me gag.
ReplyDeleteI love that the skinny is healthy, but one time I got a Skinny Peppermint Mocha and it honestly just ruined my day. That's my favorite drink because it tastes like a cup of Christmas, but it just didn't taste the same. So I decided that for my health I get skinny except maybe once or twice a month.
ReplyDeleteI don't drink coffee, but I love their skim milk steamers with hazelnut added. I think with whipped cream it is around 270 for a Grande. SOOO good!
ReplyDeleteI really believe that a moderate amount of real sugar is better than the fake stuff so you will never find me getting a "skinny" drink.
ReplyDeleteI drink my coffee/ice coffee black but adding white mocha is a great way to get the milky sweet flavor without near as many calories as a milk based drink!
I don't drink the coffee from Starbucks that often, I usually get the green tea ... but I had my first skinny frappucino the other day - it was delish!!
