I hear all these things about blogger's putting their best face forward: positivity, edited pictures, cute outfits, made-up face. I'll be the first to admit that I'm one of them most of the time. So I thought I would talk about the stuff I don't scream all over this blog.
I didn't take a shower today. And I just washed my hair yesterday.
I only wear make-up when I feel like it. And sometimes I forget to take it off before bed.
If you come ring my doorbell on a Tuesday at 1pm, I will be in sweats and a t-shirt.
I have been out of school for almost 5 months & I don't have a job.
I am 24 and not married, engaged, in a long-term relationship, or living on my own. Unlike (it seems) 90% of blog-land.
I eat cheese more than I probably should. You could probably liken me to a mouse.
I have thousands of dollars in student loans I have to start paying back this summer & am broke.
This is by no means a pity post.
I really just wanted a reason to use my new-found skill of adding GIF's to my blog.
That is all.
P.S. Because it's Nurse's Week & the theme Anna came up with today is Nurses & Humor, I'm leaving you with a nursing joke.

Well, I didn't shower today either, and washed my hair yesterday too. I'm almost completely broke. I work at Starbucks and every paycheck, it seems goes right to bills. Is it just me or does 90% of blogland also look like they live like millionaires?
ReplyDeleteI still live at home. I live here alone, but I don't pay any bills for the house or anything... so I don't consider it "on my own", and I'm going to be 24 in two months. But hey, I heard straight from Jennifer Love Hewitt's lips that she, highly successful and loaded, still lived at home at 26. So, I don't care :p
It DOES feel like 90% of blogland is married or engaged or on their own, doesn't it? I am in a long-term relationship, but only for a year and a half now, and before that I was thinking, "I never find single blogs". But whatever, don't worry about that, I know from experience that once you stop thinking about it wondering "when", it happens! :)
I'm changing my domain soon too. I'm renaming the blog though, eek! Did you try thesweetsilverlinging.com? Or sweetsilverliningblog.com?
Currently, I have yet to shower. I literally just ate tortilla chips with cheez-whiz on them (at 10:30am...yup). When I graduated nursing school, it took me almost a year to find a job that I liked and if you'd like to know a huge secret? I was asked to resign from my first 2 nursing jobs (long story...but it was for the best!). I didn't live on my own until I was, didn't get married until I was 25. And it's looking like I won't be changing out of my yoga pants for a good long while! ;)

ReplyDeleteThe perfect nursing job will find you soon :) I graduated nursing school last year and got a job pretty quickly. I'm still at that job and its definitely not want I want to be doing long term but its not the worst job either.
