Oh Nostalgia

Exactly four years ago, in February 2009, at precisely 10:23am, I published my first ever blog post. It was about the movie Paper Clips. My educational psychology professor made me do it.

I remember writing the post & pushing publish and then thinking "Wow. That was actually kind of fun." This thought (usually) never changed & here I am four years later still blogging, albeit on my own terms about whatever I wish.

One year into my blogging adventure, I did a sort-of then & now post showing where I was when I first started blogging & where I was at that point in time. I thought I would do an update on that post. Mainly for my own amazement, but that's okay too.

February 2009: I had to blog. It all started as part of an assignment for my Educational Psychology class I was taking.

February 2010: I want to blog. It's fun to write about my life, interesting things I find, and other such odds and ends.

February 2013: I love blogging! It is definitely one of my passions & I never would have thought back then that I would have nearly 300 readers. I also never could have imagined the wonderful people I have "met" through blogging.

February 2009: I was an unhappy Elementary Education major who really didn't want to teach for the rest of her life.

February 2010: I am a new student in the nursing program. I am SO happy with my career choice & am glad I realized that I wanted to switch to this before I got stuck with a teaching major.

February 2013: I am a graduate of Luther College with my Bachelors of Arts degree in Nursing & have passed my NCLEX to become an official registered nurse. I am still SO happy with my career choice and never can imagine myself as a teacher.

February 2009: I was in the process of thinking about switching colleges to attend the local community college in my hometown.

February 2010: I am still attending Luther College as a junior (or freshman in the nursing program - never know what to introduce myself as!) and happy that I chose to stay here (though at times it may not seem like it!).

February 2013: I stayed at Luther to finish up my degree and am thankful that I never transferred.

February 2009: I didn't really have any really good friends at Luther to hang out with.

February 2010: I find myself surrounded with friends, friends of friends, and other acquaintances who I am happy to have around me.

February 2013: I no longer am super close with most of those friends I talked about back in 2010, but have gained an entirely new set of friends in my nursing class; something I never imagined would have happened.

So much has happened since February 2009 when I wrote that first blog post. Mostly good, some frustrating. A lot of homework, tests, and studying have gotten to me where I am now. Along with the support from all of you. THANK YOU. Here's to the next 4 years!
